This is my first D3 visualization. You get a dropbox with a list of major metropolitan areas. Select a metro to populate the data table; the bar graph will adjust to show the population that you selected.
NOTE This visualization can sometimes take a few seconds to load. This is a problem that I hope to soon solve with Node.js. Also, you may need to scroll down to see the data table.
The graphics and table were created with D3, a visualization framework for the web. The data backend is a SQLite database that gets downloaded into your browser's memory. The data comes from the WICHE website and I used R to put the data points into a format that would be easy for D3 to use.
